At Our Oldbury Headquarters we had the pleasure of Neil & Charlie Simkin conduct a first class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar, the day start with some cool warm up drills , some single leg takedowns then we concentrated on attacking the back to submissions, the seminar was very much driven around the concept of keeping thing fluid in movement on the ground and rolling without ego, it was great to the amount of new students to ground work but found the work easy to adapt to.
Neil handed part of the seminar over to Charlie explained some of the principles of applying the rear naked choke. It was nice to see so many students get a great understanding of the work and how it got over their fears of ground work especially for our female students.
The seminar was important for all students in their advancement in training but also for students taking Black Belt gradings at the end of year. Neil closed the day with explaining the importance of not just to study Martial arts but to become a Martial Artist, the more knowledge you have on this art then the better Martial Artist you will be. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great art to study by itself or to add on too your primary art, we plan on doing more Brazilian Jiu jitsu at School of Black Belts and Neil & Charlie will be back soon to deliver another great workshop. Check out our Facebook page some some great snaps captured by Luca.
