KickBoxing Tournament at Oldbury HQ.

Kickboxing Tournament attended by our Junior Fighters.
Some of our Junior fighters at our Oldbury HQ

Our Kickboxing Tournament was held at our Oldbury HQ and may I say it was an “awesome day”, we had bigger trophies and the competitors fought their hearts out to get first place, the day got off to a great start with some well stacked categories in our junior division, with a Mickey Clarke taking fighter of the day for displaying some cool techniques, our advanced fighters showed some great skill and sportmanship with Hassan Bhatti  showing great skill and control in his fights, he has shown a great improvement of the past year.  Another great fighter was Ani Glover who battle through some tough fights displaying a stunning  “axe kick” that surprised her opponents. I cannot high light the skill level enough and how good the student were.

It was great to see some students compete for the first time, it shows that it does not matter if you win or lose but what ever happens it makes you a better fighter. These experiences are priceless , it helps the student grow in confidence, again it comes back to our last post about becoming “comfortable at being uncomfortable”. What better way of giving a child this skill than introducing them to the Martial Arts.

Solihull, Sedgley & Kingswinford School of Black Belts.

it was great to see students from Solihull, Sedgley & Kingswinford School of Black Belts attending our tournament at Oldbury, it shows that we can still have the same top standard in all our schools, and what better way to test yourself than fighting in another location with different students.

Girls Only Kickboxing Section.

With the amount of girls at School of Black Belts that wish to compete we feel it is now time to have a girls only Kickboxing Section. This I believe will be a very exciting catogory as we have so very skilful fighters.

Please check out our Facebook page for photos of the day. Our next tournament will be in September.

May I say a big thank you to all the parents & students for the support of the day, also for our time keepers & scorers. Also to Darren, Russ & Ryan who spent a top day as officials. We are already looking forward to the next one.
