Karate and Kickboxing tournament at Oldbury.
Oldbury held it last Karate and Kickboxing tournament of 2015, the tournament had a little twist to it, with “fighter of the day” being awarded to a four year old who had the courage and skill to compete with children who were older than himself.
Fighters came from our Solihull, Quinton ,Kingswinford & Sedgley Kickboxing schools to compete against their Oldbury team mates. Also the older children had to fight 2 x 1 min Kickboxing rounds instead usual 1.30 min. This was greatly received by everyone, the Continuous fighting had its usual battles with the crown being taken from Solihull fighter Oliver Line to be given to Timmy Lloyd from Oldbury, I’m sure Oliver will be back stronger next year. The tournament is based around giving the fighters confidence in competing and with the help of Ryan Davies & Danny Lowe who host squad training once a month the standard will only get better. I would like to thank all the refs and scorers who helped keep the tournament running smooth but also the parents who gave up their free time to support the event. Your lovely comments were well received. Next year I would like to announce a change in the in our tournament for 2016, we will run the 3 tournaments but fighters will get points on the final positions of the day. The points will be added thought the year and grand champion trophies will be awarded for each fighter who collects the most points.
Don’t forget to keep a look out for squad training dates . Additional photos have being added to our facebook page so please visit and add you comments.
Keep a watcvh out for our Black Belt grading coming soon.
